Low vitamin D blood levels have been associated with an increased risk of asthma in children and adults with asthma. Research is finding that Vitamin D may help in asthma management by reducing upper respiratory infections (including the common cold) that can make asthma worse.
Note: Looking deeper into Vitamin D research, the best way to use this supplement, get Vitamin D3 along with vitamin K2 (MK-7) makes it even more effective.
Vitamin C deficiency has been found to be common in people with severe asthma in a 2005 published paper.
Vitamin C in amounts of a minimum of 2 grams (2,000 Mg/day).
A number of studies support using vitamin C for asthma and allergy. Significant benefits include positive effects on pulmonary function tests, improvement in white blood cell function and motility, and a decrease in respiratory infections.
Increasing vitamin C intake may help those with severe asthma. Your body can only absorb between 500 and 1000 per hour. Taking vitamin C needs to be spread out over a days time. By mixing ascorbic acid (vitamin C) along with baking soda (sodium bicarbonate) can make it easier to absorb. Additionally, some suggest to add a few drops of Lugol's Iodine and it becomes DHAA form of vitamin C.
Those who suffer from asthma sign symptom may or may not have all of these symptoms or all at the same time. Having these symptoms does not mean you have asthma. A History and Physical along with a Lung Function Test administered by a doctor is the best way to diagnose asthma.
There are a number of reasons to explain why most doctors do not know about using the water cures protocol to treat the symptoms of asthma. (Sometimes the search term is misspelled as asthma symptoms.)Doctors are not taught to treat disease with foods and water. Their education on diet is limited. The education on oral hydration is even less. Making it worse, the education on hydration is often flawed.
This is evidenced by the inaccurate way hydration is measured in hospitals.
In a hospital, a doctors order is given to measure I & O or intake and output. Measuring output is easy. The containers are well marked and measuring is easy.
Intake is more difficult. The water containers are poorly marked. To make measurement even more complicated, ice is added to the water provided for patients. Then the foods that are liquid are also measured as fluid intake, even though they have a different effect than water.
So, since strict I & O is not strictly measured, then how serious are doctors about measuring intake and output? More importantly, if they are not taught the importance of water, how will the be concerned about it. If they are taught to treat with drugs (chemicals) rather than treating with natural things like water, salt and food, then how will their bias affect the care they give.
Note, some doctors do believe in and use water cures.

It is amazing how so many things that are new to us were common knowledge in the past. One basic practice of the Water Cures protocol is to drink at least 30-45 minutes before and 2 1/2 hours after a meal. This is not a new thought however. Notice what a magazine from 1925 had to say...
"Drink plenty of water two hours after each meal; drink none just before eating; and a small quantity if any at meal time. Do not take a bath until two hours after eating a meal, nor closer than one hour before eating. Drink a full glass of water both before and after the bath." (Golden Age, Sept. 9, 1925, pp. 784-785)

Hi, my name is Sharon. The webmaster of this site is my nurse, my personal water coach and my husband.
As this site was first being built, I had a headache and as usual took an Ibuprofen. Impatient for it to start working, I decided to try the Water Cures. I took a pinch of salt and a glass of water. Then I took a second pinch of salt and another glass of water. My headache was gone in less than 5 minutes.
From my personal experience, it usually takes 30 to 45 minutes for Ibuprofen to work. Some have found it takes ibuprofen 24 minutes to start working.
