Water weight loss is not new. It has been rediscovered every decade since the 1960's. In the latest research (2010), it was said that water may be effective for weight loss because it fills the stomach with a zero calorie substance. When we feel full, we eat less, is the theory.
There is one problem with this thinking. It is unhealthy. When we drink water with or immediately before a meal, it dilutes the nutrients in the stomach and could adversely affect proper digestion.
Also, the same 2010 study said let thirst be your guide. This is contrary to a body of research showing the elderly are chronically dehydrated because thirst is not a good indicator of hydration needs.
We need to train our bodies to drink more. With out the appropriate salt, the frequent trips to the bathroom will make people adjust their water consumption. It is human nature to avoid discomfort, ie avoid the need for the trips to the bathroom.
Stop Overeating Do you know the biological reasons we overeat?
Psychological Reasons We Over Eat From anxiety to stress, escape to grief, there are a number of psych reasons we overeat.
The right way to stimulate water weight loss is to dissolve unprocessed sea salt in the mouth and then drink water (proportionate to your weight). This should be done 30 to 45 minutes before a meal, not during a meal.
Rather than filling the stomach, if water and salt are consumed prior to eating, the water has time to go through the gut, into the blood stream and create a new mucous bed inside the stomach, preparing it for food. The difference, rather than being full, we feel satiated. We feel like we do not need to eat because we have met our bodies needs.
We are testing the water fast. There are numerous studies on the benefits of fasting using only water. It is considered a viable way to improve outcomes with cancer treatments.
The weight loss results can be dramatic. The refeeding or return to eating once the fast is completed is critical. It has to be preformed very carefully. Likewise, changes in habits needs to be implemented to prevent the weight from returning. Discover more about it as we continue to research the topic.
In the 1960's, the Stillman Diet (the inspiration for Atkins and the Zone diets) prescribed drinking 10 glasses of water a day. So drinking 1 or 2 glasses of water before a meal is nothing new.

It is amazing how so many things that are new to us were common knowledge in the past. One basic practice of the Water Cures protocol is to drink at least 30-45 minutes before and 2 1/2 hours after a meal. This is not a new thought however. Notice what a magazine from 1925 had to say...
"Drink plenty of water two hours after each meal; drink none just before eating; and a small quantity if any at meal time. Do not take a bath until two hours after eating a meal, nor closer than one hour before eating. Drink a full glass of water both before and after the bath." (Golden Age, Sept. 9, 1925, pp. 784-785)

Listen to your body. Do not use this if you are under a doctors care. Do not stop taking medications without consulting your doctor. If you are on medications, consult your doctor if you start the Water Cures Protocol as it may change your needs.

Hi, my name is Sharon. The webmaster of this site is my nurse, my personal water coach and my husband.
As this site was first being built, I had a headache and as usual took an Ibuprofen. Impatient for it to start working, I decided to try the Water Cures. I took a pinch of salt and a glass of water. Then I took a second pinch of salt and another glass of water. My headache was gone in less than 5 minutes.
From my personal experience, it usually takes 30 to 45 minutes for Ibuprofen to work. Some have found it takes ibuprofen 24 minutes to start working.
Yet on the Water Cures protocol, my headache was gone in 5 minutes.
Its simple: give your body what it needs and your body will give you what you need, the ability to feel great.
Water Cures was the solution for the elimination of my headache. It is what I will use from now on.
Why not give it a try yourself.
