Dr. B suggested a simple, natural edema treatment that will help you lose the excess water weight that you are carrying abound on your legs in the form of pitting edema.
At water cures, we follow the edema treatment proposed by Dr. Batmanghelidj regarding the cause of edema. Based on the definition he put forward, pitting edema is the bodies reaction to not having adequate hydration and electrolytes. With this knowledge, the solution is in providing the necessary water for the body. Once provided, the body will correct the fluid imbalance and bring you back to where you are supposed to be.
We want to help you lose the bowling ball or two you are carrying around in the form of excess water. It is easy to do following the process Dr. B outlined.
We have a number of projects we want to fund. Things like further research on the use of the water cures. We want to learn even more and take that knowledge and have it published in peer reviewed journals.

Wait till you have not eaten for about four hours.
Drink 10% Your Body Weight (pounds) in Ounces of WaterDrink a glass of water. How much is based on your body weight. Drink about 10% of your body weight in ounces of water. If you weigh 150, it would be 15 ounces. If you weigh 210 lbs, you would drink 21 ounces of water. It should never exceed 32 ounces in 2 hours. For most, it will be 15 to 25 ounces of water.
Before the First Drink, Take 1/8th TSP of Salt on Your TongueThe first time, take the salt and dissolve on your tongue. Use 1/8th tsp for every 16 ounces of water you drink. Take the salt the first time you drink. This is to make sure you have sufficient electrolytes. You may have to estimate the amount of salt.
When You Need To, Pee but Measure How Much Came OutWhen you feel the need to pee, go ahead. You will need to accurately measure how much comes out.
Drink 2 ounces More Than Came Out and Drink All At Once and Without the SaltHowever much comes out, you will need to drink the exact amount of water an add one or even better, two ounces more. Drink all at once. Do not nurse it. Preferably drink it at room temperature so your body will not have to warm it up.Repeat the Drink, 2 Ounces More Than Came Out, Only Without the SaltYou will keep repeating this process. It may take a few hours. When you drink the water without the salt, you will find that the need to eliminate the water will come faster and faster.
If You Feel Off, Sick or Out of the Ordinary, Take Some SaltWhen we pee, the water also contains salt. After awhile, the body starts giving up less and less salt. But, by that time, we are out of balance. You will know because you will feel sick or not right. This is a que by your body to add some electrolytes to your body, usually before drinking the water.
Options for Electrolytes: You can use orange juice but it needs to be without pulp. You don't want your body to read it like food. You can also add a tbs of liquid chlorophyll to the OJ or to the water.
A third option, mix a tsp of sugar, a tbs of chlorophyll and 1/4 tsp of salt into the water. Stir and drink. You will not drink this any more often than when you feel like you are loosing to much electrolytes or not more than every third time you drink.How You Know It's Working: You Will Go, and Go, and GoThen you will find one time that you will start to pee and it will seem like it never stops. This is your body diuresing. It is also resetting the programming that the body is no longer in a drought. To maintain this, it is essential to maintain hydration.
Over night your body should totally reset and your edema should be gone or at least drastically reduced. If not completely resolved, repeat one week later.
Make sure you maintain your hydration to prevent the edema from returning. Follow the normal Water Cures Protocol where you take the salt each time you drink the water. But always listen to your body. Maybe you are getting enough salt in your diet and you can do with less salt. Maybe you need more.

It is amazing how so many things that are new to us were common knowledge in the past. One basic practice of the Water Cures protocol is to drink at least 30-45 minutes before and 2 1/2 hours after a meal. This is not a new thought however. Notice what a magazine from 1925 had to say...
"Drink plenty of water two hours after each meal; drink none just before eating; and a small quantity if any at meal time. Do not take a bath until two hours after eating a meal, nor closer than one hour before eating. Drink a full glass of water both before and after the bath." (Golden Age, Sept. 9, 1925, pp. 784-785)

Hi, my name is Sharon. The webmaster of this site is my nurse, my personal water coach and my husband.
As this site was first being built, I had a headache and as usual took an Ibuprofen. Impatient for it to start working, I decided to try the Water Cures. I took a pinch of salt and a glass of water. Then I took a second pinch of salt and another glass of water. My headache was gone in less than 5 minutes.
From my personal experience, it usually takes 30 to 45 minutes for Ibuprofen to work. Some have found it takes ibuprofen 24 minutes to start working.
Yet on the Water Cures protocol, my headache was gone in 5 minutes.
Its simple: give your body what it needs and your body will give you what you need, the ability to feel great.
