We have been testing the theory of waterless water cures. Our 2000 year old home remedy for leg cramps and especially night leg cramps got even simpler. It is possible that taking a pinch of salt from your bed side will eliminate the pain. That's right, no water, just a pinch of salt. No need to get up and go for a jog to the kitchen. Try it. Just a pinch of salt. Try it and see.
Our body has the ability to shift water. When we take a pinch of salt, the electrolyte goes throughout our body and allows the body do equalize the water enough to stop the cramps, in as little as 45 seconds.

Of course, to prevent the cramps in the first place, drink a glass of water and take a pinch of salt dissolved in the mouth before bed.
That's it. The treatment from Hypocrites the father of medicine.
Here are some of the other home remedies for leg cramps. First, do you know the types of cramps you may experience?
What are the Different Kinds of Muscle Cramps?
Pickle Juice: Drink 2 to 3 ounces of dill pickle juice. While drinking pickle juice may end cramping 45 percent faster than just drinking water, drinking water and taking salt (the water cures protocol) is faster than pickle juice.
One theory why this works: since pickle juice is slightly acidic, a signal is sent to the nerves to shut them down. There may be a more logical reason. Pickle juice is loaded with minerals which provides electrolytes and helps prevent muscle cramping. Also, the probiotics resulting from the lactic acid fermentation of pickles are beneficial to the bacterias in our gut. The problem of leg cramps when you are in bed, it requires a trip to the fridge and time to get to the gut. The cramp will usually resolve by the time you drink the juice.
If it does not work for you, here's why. Consider this study, Electrolyte and Plasma Changes after drinking pickle juice. Note: We hypothesize that the reason for the outcomes of this test not being as good as salt could be due to the speed of absorption of the salt. When the electrolytes have to go through the stomach and gut, it will take longer to get into the blood.
The salt, absorbed in the mucous membranes of your mouth get the salt to the blood stream much faster than any other remedies for leg cramps that could be tried..
Honey and Vinegar: A tablespoon of vinegar and a teaspoon of honey. It should work inside a minute, if you can make it to the kitchen to get it.
Coconut Oil and Cayenne Pepper: Coconut oil mixed with cayenne pepper and made into a salve. Massage this into the affected area. Sounds like too much work and the cramp will have ended before you get the mixture out of the cupboard.
Stretch it Out: The most obvious, stretch and massage the cramp toward the heart. Sometimes it is easier to put pressure on the cramped leg in order to straighten it out.
Cool it down or Heat it Up: A warm towel, heating pad or warm bath may help. The down side, how long they take to apply. Ice, perhaps a little more readily available may work too.
Try it, untie your cramps with the water cures protocol.

It is amazing how so many things that are new to us were common knowledge in the past. One basic practice of the Water Cures protocol is to drink at least 30-45 minutes before and 2 1/2 hours after a meal. This is not a new thought however. Notice what a magazine from 1925 had to say...
"Drink plenty of water two hours after each meal; drink none just before eating; and a small quantity if any at meal time. Do not take a bath until two hours after eating a meal, nor closer than one hour before eating. Drink a full glass of water both before and after the bath." (Golden Age, Sept. 9, 1925, pp. 784-785)
