First on the list of natural cures for asthma is water cures.
For the complete water cures protocol, go to Water Cures. Numerous stories from people who use this all say the same thing, it is the simplest of the natural cures for asthma and it works.
There are other cures for asthma that involve water as well.
Asthma cures, like medicines, work based on absorption.
The absorption of what ever natural cure you take can happen in three ways. The first route to the inside of your body is through your mucous membranes. These are the pink tissue inside your mouth. We can absorb the natural cures through our skin but it is not as effective in most cases as our mucous membranes.
The secondary way the natural cures are absorbed into our body is through the lung tissues. When having an asthma attack, the absorption is somewhat limited. It is dependent on how well the treatment can get to the lungs.
A third way we absorb the health benefits is through the gut. Very little if any is absorbed in the stomach as the mucous membrane of the stomach produce a mucous lining to protect the walls from the acid produced to assist in digestion. It is not until it gets to the gut that absorption takes place.
It can take hours to get from the mouth to the gut where it can be absorbed. This is the least desirable way to manage an attack. It is the best way to prevent an attack as it often provides the most long lasting benefit.
Thus, the best way to get any health benefits is through the mucous membranes or through the lung from inhalation.
Water and sea salt is the first and best treatment for asthma. It gets into the blood and travels throughout the body in seconds. This is dependent on the salt being absorbed in the mouth.
There are other ways water and water related treatments can help with asthma.
Note: These work as remedies for asthma as well as for allergies.
Fermented Foods May Fix Asthma?Heat: A Natural Asthma RemedyIn the American Journal of Epidemiology, the study connected asthma to the use of antibiotics in childhood.
The study reported that young people given antibiotics had a 50% increase risk of experiencing asthma before 6 years old.
A U K study found an even worse correlation in the children studied up to age 11. The study found a 70 percent increased risk of asthma (any kind) after the antibiotics were used. The theory is that there is a connection between healthy gut bacteria and asthma.
This comes under what is called the "hygiene hypothesis." With increased antibiotic use and caesarean births happening more often, babies are not getting the diversity of good bacteria needed for the development of a healthy immune system. In effect, the asthma could be caused by a growing baby not getting exposed to enough varied bacteria that are essential for gut health and ultimately overall health.
Research backs up this hypothesis. Now, you will find anecdotal evidence that that foods rich in bacteria such as cultured or fermented foods may actually help when the typical medications are not available.
Something as simple as drinking kefir every day may allow you to get off your asthma inhaler. This can include numerous foods that naturally have bacteria.
Hot BeveragesWarm moist air helps your air passageways to expand. So this may be beneficial to prevent an attack but not to rescue someone from an attack. During an actual asthma attack, the moist air could do the exact opposite.
For some, the warm moist air could become a trigger to start an attack. Use this with caution to see how your body responds. We have found a safer and more effective way of using water. Read on to learn how water cures asthma.
Eucalyptus OilHot beverages, including coffee, green tea, herbal tea, regular tea and just water with lemon can work. Steam Inhalation
Breathing in hot steam or taking a hot shower could likewise help. A large pot of water boiling could provide the required steam.
Boiling water with caraway seeds can enhance the beneficial effects of the steam.
Essential oil of juniper boiled in hot water makes a good inhalant.
Epsom Salt BathEucalyptus oil mixed in the inhaled steam vapors can enhance the moist heat treatments.
All of these use moist heat to open the air passageways. The use of oils, caraway seeds, essential oil of juniper and eucalyptus oil add additional natural properties. The moist heat acts to deliver the various ingredients.
The ingredients in the beverages have their own unique properties. The caffeine in coffee opens the bronchioles. Green teas provide considerable antioxidant properties that help fight the inflammation.
Alkaline WaterThose who suffer with asthma have been found to have lower than normal magnesium levels in their bodies. One of the safest ways to get magnesium in the body is through epsom salt baths. When taking a hot bath, the additional benefit of breathing the moist hot air is an additional benefit.
The disadvantage, chlorinated water. Epsom salt baths should not be taken unless you have filtered water or well water.
The Water Cures ProtocolAlkaline water has the benefit of helping out bodies shift to the alkaline side of the PH balance. Drinking alkaline water needs to be done with caution. Initially, some may initially get mildly ill when first starting to drink alkaline water.

It is amazing how so many things that are new to us were common knowledge in the past. One basic practice of the Water Cures protocol is to drink at least 30-45 minutes before and 2 1/2 hours after a meal. This is not a new thought however. Notice what a magazine from 1925 had to say...
"Drink plenty of water two hours after each meal; drink none just before eating; and a small quantity if any at meal time. Do not take a bath until two hours after eating a meal, nor closer than one hour before eating. Drink a full glass of water both before and after the bath." (Golden Age, Sept. 9, 1925, pp. 784-785)

Hi, my name is Sharon. The webmaster of this site is my nurse, my personal water coach and my husband.
As this site was first being built, I had a headache and as usual took an Ibuprofen. Impatient for it to start working, I decided to try the Water Cures. I took a pinch of salt and a glass of water. Then I took a second pinch of salt and another glass of water. My headache was gone in less than 5 minutes.
From my personal experience, it usually takes 30 to 45 minutes for Ibuprofen to work. Some have found it takes ibuprofen 24 minutes to start working.
Yet on the Water Cures protocol, my headache was gone in 5 minutes.
Its simple: give your body what it needs and your body will give you what you need, the ability to feel great.
Water Cures was the solution for the elimination of my headache. It is what I will use from now on.
Why not give it a try yourself.
