Is it true that water cures leg cramps? Those using the water cures protocols will say absolutely yes. Here is the evidence why water and sea salt will stop a leg cramp. This is a work in progress. Please return as we keep adding pages to this section. Currently it is very basic. We will become more comprehensive in time.

Leg cramps most often happen in the calf muscles although they can happen anywhere in the leg or feet. Cramps are considered harmless, although that statement is probably made by someone who has never been plagued by them.
Cramps are the sudden and painful tightening of a muscle. The pain can be mild to excruciating. The cramp and or pain may also be debilitating while the cramp is in progress.
Once the cramping is over, the pain may persist for several hours for some.
It is hard to know how many people have leg cramps. Many people have them through life and never tell anyone, let alone their doctor or their local leg cramp research scientist.
Leg cramps affect men and women equally. They can affect children and teens, especially when they are more active.
Those 60 and Over: those most affected are adults over the age of 60. As many as 1 out of 3 experience leg cramps. Close to half of those people have three or more cramps a week.
Pregnancy: 1 out of 3 pregnant women have leg cramps. These happen most often the last trimester or week 27 through birth. Note: Because we have no information on the use of the water cures in pregnancy or breastfeeding, you should not use the protocol unless under the direction of a qualified health care professional.
Runners and athletes.
People on certain medications.
A more in-depth look will be considered on the causes of leg cramps in the future. When the cause is considered idiopathic, literature will say that the cause is unknown. At Water Cures, we disagree as we have ended the cramps of thousands of people. As a hospital nurse, I personally helped over a thousand through the years on the floors of numerous hospitals. We have found that muscle spasms or cramps in almost all cases are caused by chronic and unintentional dehydration and electrolyte imbalance.
The water cures leg cramps treatment and our conclusions are based on the commonalities and the differences in cramps caused by diseases, drugs or simply fluid and electrolyte imbalance.
More importantly, when you ask any of our visitors who have managed and even eliminated their leg cramps with the The Water Cures Protocol
Why it works? When the cells of our body do not have enough water, they either try to self protect or start to self destruct. When muscles, which are very dependent on fluid balance, do not have the right balance of electrolytes too, they are at greater risk of cramping.
Drinking a glass of water and dissolving a pinch of salt in our mouth will eliminate the pain for most. Often relief happens within 45 seconds. At night, drinking a glass of water before bed and then putting the salt in the mouth will prevent the cramps all night long (and as a bonus, prevent you from having to get up to go to the bathroom.
Water Cures Experiences
From a water coach:
I was waiting to pick up my boss at the Philly Airport one summer.
An African American gentleman walked in front of my car, is face grimacing in pain. On approaching him and asking what was wrong, he said he had a sever leg cramp.
Offering him some salt and on dissolving it in his mouth, he then drank part of a bottle of water.
Then having him watch his watch, he mentally took note of the time.
Using a bit of distraction conversation, in a short time, I asked for him to tell me how the pain was. He said it was gone. Then asking, he said it had been 45 seconds.
He was amazed and, as he said, he was also a believer in the water cures.

It is amazing how so many things that are new to us were common knowledge in the past. One basic practice of the Water Cures protocol is to drink at least 30-45 minutes before and 2 1/2 hours after a meal. This is not a new thought however. Notice what a magazine from 1925 had to say...
"Drink plenty of water two hours after each meal; drink none just before eating; and a small quantity if any at meal time. Do not take a bath until two hours after eating a meal, nor closer than one hour before eating. Drink a full glass of water both before and after the bath." (Golden Age, Sept. 9, 1925, pp. 784-785)

My Severe Night Leg Cramps Story
Hi, my name is Sharon. The webmaster of this site is my nurse, my personal water coach and my husband.
As this site was first being built, I had a headache and as usual took an Ibuprofen. Impatient for it to start working, I decided to try the Water Cures. I took a pinch of salt and a glass of water. Then I took a second pinch of salt and another glass of water. My headache was gone in less than 5 minutes.
From my personal experience, it usually takes 30 to 45 minutes for Ibuprofen to work. Some have found it takes ibuprofen 24 minutes to start working.
Yet on the Water Cures protocol, my headache was gone in 5 minutes.
Its simple: give your body what it needs and your body will give you what you need, the ability to feel great.
Water Cures was the solution for the elimination of my headache. It is what I will use from now on.
Why not give it a try yourself.
